Walkers and ramblers have always found this “Little England beyond Wales” the most welcoming of counties. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path, now designated a National Trail runs for over 180 miles around the coast from Saint Dogmaels in the north to the small hamlet of Amroth in the south.

The Coast Path makes a superb vantage point for watching the many species of seabirds that inhabit the area. Pembrokeshire is home to several nature reserves including the internationally renowned island of Skomer.

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path forms part of the only coastal National Park in Britain. The Path offers visitors of all ages and physical abilities the chance to experience some of the finest walking routes in the country. Whatever stretch of coastline you decide to explore, you can be sure that a part of Pembrokeshire will always stay with you.

Pathways of Snowdon

Snowdon or Yr Wyddfa as the summit is known in Welsh is the country’s highest mountain. Situated in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park it attracts more than a million visitors each year. Some arrive by way of The Snowdon Mountain Railway, but the majority choose to walk up one of the main footpaths that converge on the summit cairn.

The area is a magnet for walkers, ramblers and mountaineers and standing at a height of 1,085 metres above sea level, the mountain provides spectacular views of the surrounding countryside.

Snowdon offers walkers a chance to explore the ruined mine workings that litter her slopes and to study the industrial archaeology of the area.

From a safety point of view, it should be remembered that weather conditions on the mountain can change very quickly and it is essential that visitors are properly equipped. Sturdy footwear should be worn at all times and warm, waterproof clothing should be carried.

The Canal du Midi - Cruising Guide

From its western terminus in Toulouse, the canal climbs up through the Lauragais Plain  to the summit level at Narouze. It then starts a descent of 190 metres through the vineyards of the Minervois to eventually arive on the shores of the Mediterranean.

The guide includes information on the paperwork required for cruising, together with a history of the waterway and its creator Piere Paul Riquet.
